The Chemistry of Color
Connecting Kids, Science and the Graphic Arts
Picture books. Magazines. Candy Wrappers. These things are all around us. And they have one thing in common: printing inks make them all much more colorful and appealing. Thanks to Lubrizol’s “Science and The Graphic Arts” presentation, some grade school students in Illinois have a new appreciation of the role printing inks play in everyday life. Lubrizol scientists visiting the school brought microscopes and test equipment so kids could see for themselves how printed material looks at a microscopic level and what makes a sample good or bad.
